Apple and Cinnamon Rolls | Dairy & Egg Free

Apples and cinnamon are an amazing combo for a quick snack on their own too, but it is even better rolled in a buttery, soft, and fluffy dough. These Apple & Cinnamon Rolls are not only very easy-to-make, they are also super tasty, and perfect all year round. I promise, everyone who tries this recipe will be super impressed, because there's nothing not to love about a cozy, melt-in-your-mouth dessert.



Ingredients for the dough:

  • 360ml / 1 1/2 cups plant based milk of your choice

  • 115gr / 1/2 cup vegan margarine/vegan butter

  • 2 tsp fast-action dry yeast

  • 500 gr / 4 cups white bread flour

  • 60 gr / 1/2 cup white cane sugar

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 2 tbsp vegan margarine/ vegan butter, room temp)

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

  • 3 tbps brown sugar

  • 1 green apple, cubed


Instructions:

  1. Heat the plant-based milk of your choice with the vegan margarine/butter in a saucepan, over low heat until the margarine/butter is melted. Mix in the dry yeast, but be careful if the mixture is too hot it could kill the yeast, it should be lukewarm. Set it aside for 5 minutes or until the yeast is foamy.

  2. Meanwhile, mix the flour and sugar together in a bowl.

  3. Pour in your plant-based milk, vegan margarine/butter and yeast mixture.

  4. Lightly flour your work surface and knead the dough for at least 10 minutes. The dough should be fluffy, soft and not sticky.

  5. When the dough has been kneaded, place it into a bowl and cover it with a damp kitchen towel. Set it aside, somewhere warm and let it rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.

  6. To make the filling, mix together softened vegan butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

  7. Lightly flour your work surface and take the risen dough out of the bowl. Roll the dough into a long rectangular shape.

  8. Spread the filling evenly on the dough, then add the apple pieces on top as well. Roll up the dough, starting from the side closest to you. Cut the dough into 8 even slices.

  9. Place the rolls on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes.

  10. Let the cinnamon rolls cool completely before enjoying them!
