I think my love for tofu is evident by now. I love tofu because it is so versatile. With a little bit of love and effort, you can turn it into pretty much anything you want. This Sticky Ginger Tofu is quick and easy to make, full of flavor, and packed plant-based protein. Served with rice and veggies, it makes for a lazy but nutritious lunch or dinner.
Ingredients:
300g firm tofu
2 tbsp flour
thumb of ginger, grated
1 tbsp brown sugar or agave
2 tbsp soy sauce
Instructions:
Drain the tofu and pat down any excess water using a paper towel.
Cut the tofu into cubes and coat it with 1 tbsp of flour, in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
In another mixing bowl, make the sauce by combining soy sauce, brown sugar, 1 tbsp flour, and ginger. Mix until well combined and set aside.
Add a bit of oil to a frying pan and fry the tofu until golden brown on all sides.
Add the sauce to the pan and cook until thickened.
Serve warm topped with spring onion and sesame seeds.
Notes:
I recommend serving this recipe with some rice and broccoli.
