Continuing the holiday menu, today I'm sharing these Vegan Garlic Butter Dinner Rolls, which are the perfect appetizer or side dish share with your friends and family this holiday season. They are super easy to make, pillowy soft and fluffy. The garlic butter brushed on top of the freshly baked, still hot dinner rolls brings it to another level.
Ingredients:
dough:
2 cups all purpose flour
pinch of salt
7g / 2 tsp fast action dry yeast
4 tbsp neutral oil / melted vegan butter
150 ml lukewarm water
garlic butter:
5 cloves minced garlic
4 tbsp vegan butter
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, pinch of salt, and yeast.
Then add neutral oil, or melted vegan butter and lukewarm water. Knead for about 5-10 minutes. The dough should be soft, smooth and not sticky.
Lightly oil the bowl and let the dough rise, covered with a kitchen towel, for an hour or until doubled in size.
Once your dough has risen, form little even sized dough balls. Place them onto a parchment lined baking sheet. cover with a kitchen towel and let them rise one more time for an additional 20 minutes.
Brush the top of each dinner roll with plant-based milk, before baking them for 25-30 minutes or until the top i nice and golden brown.
In the meantime, make the garlic butter. In a pan over medium heat, melt the vegan butter and add the minced garlic. Let the garlic infuse the vegan butter for just about 2 minutes, then set aside.
Brush the top of the baked dinner rolls with the garlic butter while they are still hot.
Enjoy!
Notes:
If you want to go all out, you can put some vegan cheese on the inside of the dough balls before baking as you form them.
